Amac Neurology App

Spring 2026 – Present · Local neurology and sleep practice
In development · physician-tested prototype

A patient health tracker being built for Amac Neurology and Sleep Associates, a local neurology and sleep practice. The app gives patients a simple way to log the day-to-day data their physician needs at follow-ups — without the friction of paper diaries or scattered notes apps.

The problem it solves

Neurology and sleep patients are typically asked to track symptom patterns between visits — headache frequency and triggers, sleep quality, medication response, pain levels, and other condition-specific data. In practice, most patients either forget to log consistently or end up with notes scattered across apps and notebooks. By the time they're back in the exam room, the data is incomplete or hard to interpret. A focused tracker designed for this specific practice's patients makes the data better and the visits more useful.

What it tracks

The app supports the kinds of logging that come up most often in neurology and sleep care:

Design approach

The app is designed local-first — patient data lives on the user's own device rather than on a remote server. This was a deliberate choice for several reasons. It keeps the tool simple for a small practice to deploy and recommend without standing up backend infrastructure. It removes the complexity and risk of hosting protected health information. And it matches how the most-used patient-tracker apps in the space already work, which means the experience is familiar to patients who've tried similar tools.

Status

The current build is a working prototype. The supervising physician has tested the app and given feedback, which is being used to refine the experience. Future development will focus on expanding the tracking categories, polishing the data review experience, and exploring options for sharing data with the practice during follow-up visits.
